KISS 1978 Solo Albums Press Release Bios Master Typed Production Layouts 3-Part Framed Set — 1 of a Kind — purchased from the 2001 Official Kiss Auction — see Lot #1511 and #1512 on pages 94 & 95 of your Butterfields Auction Catalog — we have quite a bit to discuss with this set — first off, these are in very expensive super heavy duty solid wood and glass gold and black frames that will look stunning in your Kiss Shrine — next, one of the glass fronts broke in shipping when shipped from the Butterfields Auction House; tape has been put across the glass so it won’t break any further — I don’t understand why these 3 items were not originally sold as 1 complete set — Instead, the auction house made these 2 pieces separate lots and then made a mistake and ommitted the 3rd piece from either of the original listings or as it’s own separate listing but then shipped it as a bonus to the winner because the advertised 2 were won by the same person. Clearly they were meant to be kept / sold together and someone screwed up; that’s why they were uniformally framed. Anyways, here’s your chance to finally win the entire set of Kiss Solo Albums press release production layouts all as a set. The browning you see is simply from the aging of the glue used in the mounting process by the Kiss Art Department when gluing these to the original thick backing boards for final approval from management; remember, these weren’t created for future sale they were created as marketing material so future appearance wasn’t a consideration back in 1978. Each frame measures 30.25″ x 24″ — Finally, these weren’t advertised correctly in detail by the original auction house prepping team — These are the original typed bios !!! There would be no reason to keep the originals as “collectibles” and make copies then just to show management for final approval — Look closely at the Peter Criss bio, it was changed / edited — You can clearly see 2 paragraphs were attached separately because of the seam lines of the paper; and when you use a magnifying glass, you can see faintly see the typing underneath. So these were revamped passages glued over the original versions. Excellent condition.
